Patrón Tequila XO Cafe Dark Cocoa brings together coffee, cocoa and and Patrón silver tequila in a decadent after dinner liqueur.
Patrón XO Cafe Dark Cocoa is a coffee liqueur that brings together Patrón Silver tequila, Criollo dark cocoa from Mexico’s Tabasco region and coffee from the Mexican states of Veracruz and Chiapas. The expression launched in 2012 and is an extension to Patrón XO Cafe liqueur.
Packaged in the eye-catching handmade frosted glass bottle, Patrón XO Cafe Dark Cocoa (30% ABV) has a deep, dark brown colour, and a nose of fresh coffee and cocoa. On the palate, it is smooth, creamy with a robust coffee note and not overly sweet like some coffee liqueurs. It lingers with a rich coffee and chocolate, some cracked black pepper and cinnamon spice along with an agave finish.
Patrón XO Cafe Dark Cocoa can be enjoyed over ice, in desserts and in cocktails where coffee liqueur is used. The Patron XO Cocoa Martini can be made with 30 ml of Cafe Dark Cocoa, 30 ml of vodka and 30 ml of chilled espresso, shaken over ice, poured into a Martinie glass and garnished with 3 coffee beans on top.
Update: This expression has since been discontinued in 2021.
