Sydney’s cocktail bar scene continues to grow with new bars opening in the CBD and surrounds. Here are 7 new Sydney bars to put on your radar.

The Duke of Clarence Sydney

Sydney is getting a 19th century-inspired English tavern from the team behind The Barber Shop. The Duke of Clarence will offer a 500-strong line-up of spirits from the British aisles, beer served from ornate beer taps sourced from England, and classic cocktails, treated with Victorian-era twists or rotovapped with ingredients that were used during the time of Charles Dickens. Door Knock Sydney

Door Knock, a new underground cocktail and bar by Owner/Operator Natalie Ng and Justin Best will take over from the Norsk Dor site with a focus on wines, sherry and fortified, fun and innovative cocktails in warm, convivial surrounds. Monkey’s Corner Chippendale

Located along Chippedale’s Kensington Street, Monkey’s Corner takes inspiration from intimate Tokyo bars with a minimalist fitout, blonde wood and overhanging timber ceiling. Cocktails have Asian-inspired flavours such as the Lichi Martini and Hawaiian Old Fashioned. More on Monkey’s Corner here.

Gin Lane Chippendale

Formerly occupied by Bar Chinois, Gin Lane is another new bar along Kensington Street in Chippendale with gin-based cocktails and specialty gins from around the world.

Old Mate’s Place Sydney

Old Mate’s Place is a rooftop bar from Gabrielle and Andres Walters (Kittyhawk, Lobo Plantation) and Daniel Noble coming to Sydney CBD in 2018.

Maybe Frank Randwick

Maybe Frank Randwick may not be a standalone bar per se, but with the calibre of the cocktail bar at Maybe Frank Surry Hills, the drinks list is sure to impress. Our sneak peak into the venue’s drinks offering means Randwick is in for a real treat. Opens Thursday 9 November 2017.

GoGo Bar Chin Chin Sydney

You may need to brave the long queue to get a seat at GoGo Bar located within Chin Chin Sydney. The cocktail list comes in the form of a food/drink pyramid where you choose a key ingredient such as dragon fruit then turn over for the cocktail.
