The Gin Rickey is an easy three ingredient drink that is a refreshing combination of gin, fresh lime juice and soda.

The Gin Rickey is related to the Gimlet, another gin-based cocktail with the difference being that the former has no sugar or any sweetener. Also known as the Lime Rickey, the tall drink is built in a highball glass over ice cubes and works well with a London dry style or a citrus-forward spirit.
If you’re looking for a low calorie drink with no sugar, this cocktail makes a healthier alternative to a Gin and Tonic. You can add flavour by using garden herbs for a touch of aromatics that enhance the botanicals of the spirit.
Gin Rickey Recipe
Ingredients
- 60 ml gin
- 20 ml fresh lime juice
- soda water to top
Glass: highball
Garnish: lime wheel on rim or wedge in glass
Method
In a tall glass, build the drink by adding gin, lime juice and ice cubes. Top with soda water, stir gently and garnish with a lime wheel.
