The distillery is located on the west side of Nicaragua, a highly volcanic country in an area known for a fertile soil that imparts a richer flavour to the rum. Established in 1890, it is Nicaragua’s only distillery and remains family-owned.

Flor de Caña rums are made from estate-owned and grown sugar cane plantations. Flor de Caña Centenario 25 Year Old Rum is distilled five times in three column stills then slow-aged for a minimum of 25 years in ex American white oak barrels from Jack Daniel’s. What sets this rum apart is that it is 100% single vintage and not a blend of rums of various ages. No caramel colouring or artificial flavours are added and it is not infused with wood shavings.
