Easter Cocktail Recipes: What’s Up Doc

What’s Up Doc is an easy-drinking Easter cocktail recipe made with tequila.

Easter Cocktail Recipes: What’s Up Doc

Delivered by cartoon character Bugs Bunny as he chewed on a carrot, What’s Up Doc is one of the most famous lines from the lovable bunny rabbit. Bugs is well known for his sass, his nonchalance and for being a prankster so we thought a tequila-based cocktail would befit his character. The What’s Up Doc cocktail combines tequila blanco with fresh carrot juice, ginger syrup and fresh lime juice with a carrot top and baby carrot as garnish.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml tequila blanco
  • 30 ml fresh carrot juice
  • 20 ml ginger syrup
  • 20 ml fresh lime juice

Glassware: short glass
Garnish: carrot top, baby carrot

Method

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add tequila, carrot juice, lemon juice and simple syrup and shake until the tin is cold. Strain into a short glass with ice cubes. Garnish with a baby carrot and carrot top.

To make the ginger syrup, gently heat equal parts water and white sugar (1/4 cup will suffice) with a slice of ginger in a pan until the sugar is dissolved. Press down on the ginger down to extract some of the juice. Strain and store in the fridge until ready to use.
